Cameron Bean, Advancement & Marketing Coordinator for the Department of Theatre at Columbus State University, had his first theatre experience in his hometown of Charleston, SC, where at the age of 6, he performed in the Spoleto Festival. He received his bachelor's of science in education degree in Theatre Education from Columbus State University, and his master's degree in Business Administration from the D. Abbott Turner College of Business at Columbus State University. Cameron has served as Lead Teacher for the Junior Program at the Springer Theatre Academy and currently serves as Treasurer for the Georgia Theatre Conference, making him the youngest individual ever to serve on the Executive Board. As chief fundraiser for the Department of Theatre, Cameron works with the "Theatre Angels Steering Committee," a volunteer board of community members dedicated to generating interest, procuring funding, and developing new programs to further increase the educational and scholarship opportunities at the Department of Theatre.
Cameron also currently serves as the Recruitment Coordinator for the College of the Arts at Columbus State University. He is responsible for overseeing the recruitment of the highest quality academic and artistic students to the Art, Communication, Music and Theatre programs from all over the world. Cameron established and oversees the RiverPark Student Ambassadors Program which pairs current College of the Arts students with prospects interested in joining the arts programs at CSU.
In addition to his efforts as an arts management professional,
Cameron is regularly requested as an actor, singer, entertainer,
public speaker, and master of ceremonies for a variety of
productions and events throughout the United States. He is a
founding member of a comedy-based musical group in Columbus, GA
called "4Guys." Some of his favorite acting credits include
Seymour Krelborn in "Little Shop of Horrors," Detective Sergeant
Trotter in "The Mousetrap," Will Parker in "Oklahoma!," Ethan
Girard in "The Full Monty," Sir Andrew Aguecheek in "Twelfth
Night," and as himself in "The Complete Works of William
Shakespeare (abridged)."
